Display Driver Problems
I have a problem with my display driver. Whenver I watch live streaming video with windows media or realplayer (or sometimes even saved media files), my graphics driver fails and I get a message saying "Display driver stopped working properly. ati2dvag stopped working properly..." The system then reverts to simple low-color graphics mode. When I restart, everthing is fine again until I watch streaming video, etc.
I have an IBM R34 notebook, with Windows XP +SP2. Any ideas how to fix this problem?

Well you have ati drivers meaning that you have integrated graphics. I don't know wether integrated ati graphics use catalyst or not.
Anyway, go to www.ati.com and search for your graphics card drivers there. Download the latest drivers and install them. That should fix your problem. You must have a corrupt driver at the moment or something gay like that.

I had the same problem as everybody's describing, about every twenty minutes. Long story short, here's how I fixed it:
1. uninstall everything ati (I dunno that this is completely necessary, but it's easy enough to throw in the disk and reinstall everything again real quick like.)
2. throw in the disk and reinstall everything again real quick like....BUT do a custom reinstall. Do NOT install the control panel when given the optional component choices. Note that in my case this automatically unchecks the box to install the ati display drivers too...you gotta recheck them before continuing.
3. kick back and enjoy the gold and platinum and diamonds and rocks from pluto that come spitting out of your cd drive.
good luck!
