| if someone could shed some light on this error plz
heyal,
the last few days i've been recieving this error dialog box with title advanced inf installer giving message :error unregistering the ocx%164271%\wintools\wtoolsb.dll and lower left corner area says [registry entries] and below this says hkcu then the ok button.
i know what the wintools etc is had it but had it a while ago ..maybe month or more anyways did search on drive and registry and nothing comes up.
what i can't figure out is why all the sudden this is coming up.
i am having a prob with this randreco.exe constantly coming back in my temp dir and the file evtqoue.exe that also keeps coming back in my windows\system dir. i know those 2 files are related and properties list them linked to callinghome.biz or something to that effect but i've not been there and don't know where or why or how it keeps coming back. i've cleaned and adaware removed and still comes back.
any info and help on this would be greatly appreciated cuz im stumped on all this.
thank you,
southern belle

There is a plugin you can get for your AdAware program called the VX2 Cleaner. You can't uninstall VX2 spyware manually.
You make sure AdAware isn't running, install the VX2 plugin, start AdAware and in the menu click on Plugin's.
Highlight and use the VX2 cleaner.
Cheers!

thanks for reply. i went to site and d/l'd the vx2 plugin but it wasn't showing up in the plugins section of adaware. then i checked the version since the vx2 said would work for all adaware se versions but mine is adaware 6 pro...had 2 or 3 other plugins saying something bad.... so i guess they don't work with mine. can u suggest some other way? i wonder if i installed both versions if it would work..do u happen to know?
oh btw while i've been on the pc i've had to delete the process for evtqou.exe 3 times and each time there are several directories in my temp with files including the randreco and mmaker, conflict/cabs/info and a polar. i viewed the files inside looking for readable strings and they're all mentioned along with btiein and a bunch of others tho im not finding them on hard drive other than the temp dir and the evtqou.exe which settles itself in the windows\system directory.
when in msconfig startup the evtqou.exe with path etc is there and always with a diff name on left side it looks like just random characters. these just won't go away.
oh and i ran adaware again but still no luck.
thanks again, i'll look for more resposes,

im so sorry i hadn't responded in a while to update this i do appologize.
i finally got the right version of the adaware to be able to use the vx2 cleaner and forgot if that did the trick or not but i did finally get rid of it and i haven't seen it pop in for awhile.
thank you so very much for all your help,
