| Trying to Recover Computer Prob.
I have a Sony PCV-RX891 on Windows XP and I am experiencing trouble when i try to recover the whole computer. There are 3 disks to recover the computer and when you stick in the first cd and restart the computer im getting this message:
-VAIO System Recovery Utility-
Cannot normally execute the initial setting of partition informaion.
This utility exists and your computer is rebooted.
I get this everytime i try to reboot and try to run the cd over again.
Does anyone know what Im suppose do or what that message means??
Thanks. |

Have you tried a cold boot?
You can even set your bios boot order to CD first to try and eliminate and confusion.
Cheers! |

Was there some kind of partition left there by Sony that got changed somehow? I know some computer manufacturers leave a partition on the hard drive containg such info nowadays. |

Partitions are what it's called when your HDD is split up into smaller parts.
You could have a 160GB HDD and that is split up into two 80GB partitions. Partitions are usually seen as drive letters.
Some mfr's use hidden system partitions to store recovery software, information, or settings.
