I’m having a slight problem with my laptop. The keypad function has been reversed, so that I have to hit the FN key to get the keys to make a letter instead of a number.

Does anyone know how to fix the problem?

Try shift+scrlk.

It wasn't shift+scrlk, but it pointed me to the right direction. It was FN+scrlk

The cause of the problem was using an external keyboard during our LAN party Saturday

Laptop keyboards don't have a keypad out to the right like a desktop keyboard. If you are doing a lot of number intensive things (spreadsheets, etc), you can lock a section of the keyboard so that it acts as a keypad.

I didn't know how to shut the function off (it kicked on after using an external keyboard) because I had never used it before.

That is exactly my problem also! But for me this solution is not working...

tried uninstalling the driver etc. but to no avail. Can anyone help me with this?
