i'd say its your motherboard. probably the second dimm slot on the mobo is messed up. odd....i have sisoft sandra version 5 and it dosen't have the -5 or -12 volt ratings on my computer nor does everest home . oh well. I'd recommend trying a new powersupply. If that dosen't work, then try a new motherboard. If you take it to a computer place and just ask them to just test your computer with a new motherboard they may do it for free..and if not..they should do it for under 10 bucks |

well, motherboard problem is a real possibility, doesnt sound like bad ram, maybe incompatible RAM? is your mother board rated for the type of RAM your using? |

Thank so much guys for the really prompt help. Only thing that I should point out is that the system HAS worked perfectly, and is only a matter of months old. The MOBO does support the memory, and the power supply has been ok previously.
Can I just check, is consensus that I may have a power problem in addition to my memory problem, or is the memory problem separate? |

I dont think the memory is a problem, I think it is a motherboard problem around the DIMM somewhere, simple solution for that would be the warranty since its a new computer, he suggested the power supply cuz you someone was mentioning power discrepancies. I would say either take it in or contact the manufacturer about getting a replacement Mobo |

Wasn't there some problem with some A64 and mobo chipset combos that could not handle 2 sticks of memory?

The power problem I mention could be because hes right at threshold also that his +12volts is lower. |

First of all assert whether the new RAM is OK in itself. Plug it in alone, run program from www.memtest.org
Then be aware that 200 MHz DDR operation is NOT specified to work with more than one DIMM. Back down to 166 to be within engineering specifications for two-DIMM operation. |

CPU Voltage : 1.58V
+3.3V Voltage : 3.17V - This is a bit low
+5V Voltage : 5.08V - This is OK
+12V Voltage : 11.31V - This is a bit low
-12V Voltage : 0.47V
-5V Voltage : 1.69V
Standby Voltage : 4.90V - This is a bit low
Battery Voltage : 0.03V
Many onboard monitors have problems with the negative voltage rails. As for the bios battery reading, mine always reads too high, so I wouldn't worry about that one either.
What brand is the power supply? I ask this because the system only seems to go unstable when you have all the RAM in and load a game. When you load a game, the CPU and video card both go into high gear along with the hard drive (and and the CDROM if you don't have noCD cracks installed) drawing more power when they are accessed to load the game. If it's a generic or off-brand PSU, then that is most likely the problem.
