SATA question

A couple of questions:

What is a SATA hard drive, basically.

What is legacy power supply.

I'm confused in the part of not plugging in legacy and SATA at the same time. I just bought a western digital 120 gig HD and a radeon 9800 all in wonder. Now, the thing is that the Radeon needs to be plugged into my HD with the power supply cable (wich I am assuming is what legacy power supply is at this time) but the HD said it can't have SATA and Legacy at the same time. But it seems the only option is to go with SATA, otherwise there is no way to plug it into the motherboard.

So, Is it possible to use my Radeon all in wonder with this SATA HD?

I think, it is saying, that you cannot power it with legacy and SATA at the same time. There are SATA power connectors, SATA Data Connectors, and Legacy Power Connectors on most SATA drives.

Legacy is your "normal" power cable.

Plug the data (small) cable between your SATA drive and your mobo, and plug in the legacy power into (4 wires, way to tell) into the drive. You should be set.
