Compaq Presario 2100 screen problem

Hello all, I have a problem. The screen on my laptop will work fine for a while and then red turns to yellow and black to green and were the color is there are lines of the same color going accross the screen. I have been thinking that this is a loose wire problem since it can sometimes be fixed by closing he screen and tapping on the edges or moving the screen a few times. I have the HP service center guide on this computer that tells me how to take apart the screen among other things. but i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem since all Compaq/HP customer support is done over seas and all they will ever tell you is to send it in because they know as much about computer as I know about nerosergery (and i know nothing about that).

I have an older Compaq Armada laptop that does similar things... I don't use it much, so I just put up with it. It's pretty hard to service laptops, especially if you need new parts for them.

i have a problem with my screen, it trembles show i took it back to the store and they tolde me they needed 950 euros to repair it because the screen was damaged...950 euros sounds a lot if you consider that i bought it for 1150 euros...I dont know what do do. Should i buy a new screen myself? Where can i buy a new screen?
