WindowsXP Freezes on Shutdown

Hey guys i have searched gooigle and all but still can't exactly direct what the problem would be, but my computer will not shutdown it freezese, when it says "Windows is Shutting down" and the mouse will not move or anything, it is getting really annoying because this is a new motherboard and processor that i have recently installed with a fresh windows installation, running winxp sp2, Im using a Gigabyte k8ns pro with an amd 2800+ when i installed windows with sp2 everything was fine, but lately, it is not shutting down, i dont have many programs installed either, all i have is bf1942,bf:v, cs:s, steam, adware:, avg, zonelabs suite, microsoft office, registry mechanic, mozilla firefox,trillian 3, ventrilo, mirc, and thats pretty much it so far, so if anyone needs more info or can help me out, i would appreciate it alot., THanks.

Hey man, thanks i think it was that pace driver thing that fixed it, but wei will still see that was only one shutdown, but i think that did it well.

ok this crap is sstill happenin and its very frustratin to diagnose the problem i've tried most things now and will possibly try all, i sitll havent done a windows repair or anything, but if anyone can help me out i'd appreciate it.
