lost saved files and time

recently my new audigy 2 zs sound card stopped working. Around that same time the time on my computer reset and now im missing a lot of half life 2 saved games. anyone know if these could be related and how to fix...maybe a virus? ive reseated the card to no avail and drivers as well.
