it happened so fast, I was playing some CS:S when my sound just went to s***. Its almost as if the audio playing underwater/in a cave. It effects games, media players, etc. It really seems to effect vocal sounds more than high pitched instruments (classical music sounds normal right now, but if I were to switch to something with lyrics, theyd barly be audible.)

I've tried reinstalling/updating my nforce onboard drivers, rolledback to a previous restore point, restarting (dur) and checked out virii and spyware/adware to no avail.
