Question
How to uninstall 1 of the 2 XP home edition from c: ?

My laptop is running window XP home edition.
A few days ago, i suddenly got an error message that prevent me from even booting up the window.
So regrettably i tried to install the window XP home edition (from my rescue disc) in my laptop again. And to prevent loosing datas, i installed the 2nd XP in a new folder within the only hard-drive, c:
Then i later come across that window XP has this amazing feature to retrace your system file.
So i follow the instructions and manage to get the first copy of XP up and working again.
So my question now is how can i uninstall the 2nd XP from my laptop?
The easiest option will be simply delete the folder that contain the 2nd XP, and i did tried that, but although the folder is deleted, during booting up, it will still give me 2 options asking which XP i want to boot up. And if i choose the 2nd XP (which i already deleted), the computer will crash.
So i undo the deleted XP folder and i am back with 2 XP version in my c: (note, it is not partitioned, the 2nd XP is in a different folder within c: )
thanks in advance for any kind help/suggestions!

You go to your working xp, start->run->cmd
attrib -s -h -r boot.ini
edit boot.ini -> remove the non-working xp (you recognice it from the folder) line -> save
attrib +r +s +h boot.ini

//edit
Be careful though, if you mess it up, your computer will not boot.
So, make a bootfloppy before you edit the file (format floppy in xp, copy boot.ini, ntldr and ntdetect.com to the floppy)

Send a message via AIM to Siliconjunkie
activate it, just like it tells you when it comes up.
