Thank You for quick response..
You are right I must check the motherboard also.. I dont know it is a sign but I have a 5V electricity in my board ( for walk-on lan I think) because my ethernet light is ok and my usb outputs is working completly..Also my start/stop button is still functioning.
The most important thing is when I push to start button, my case fan turns 2 or 3 times but after it stops.. Some friends said me that tne mainboard doesnot like the power_ok signal from PSU so it stops everything to protect itselfs..
So do you still think mobo is underattack ? |

WOW...
I am SO sorry!
THAT is a major hassle!
That is TOTALLY proprietary... you are gonna have a heck of a time working on that...
When I get home I'll see if I can offer an option for you... |

it's not an exact fit...but it may work...what you might have to do, it make new screw holes in the case for it (but that'd be much easier than redoing the psu) i'll look around for you though. what are the exact dimensions of the psu? that way I can see if i can match it up w/ anything around..and then u just have to switch cases...but there is enough electricity in a psu to kill you..even if it's not plugged in..that's why i'd try not to mess around inside the psu if i was you.

You might call this place they seem to have a wide variety of power supplies. http://store.yahoo.com/alan-fm/index.html
I'm not sure if you have a TFX form factor power supply. If it is TFX the dimensions should be 70mm thick X 175mm long X 85mm wide. Measure yours and post back.
Also what is the model number of the pc?

Thank You friends,
My old Power Supply Case dimensions are : 8 inch long and 3.5 inch wide
By the way yesterday I found another Power Supply and I tested this is the result :
Firstly Screen is came, but it did not recognized my Hard Disk !
2-3 -4 times same
I have entered into Bios , no way there is no any hard disk..
So after I reset CMOS, and try same...
After all, I decided to try it woth a system CD, it boot from CD and I selected install it but when the hard disk must be work, no way it just wait..One interesting thing is that my Hard disk noise is typycally same as a car engine that did not work.. There is such a try noise to start it but after it stops itselfs..Strange..
Is there any way that CAN I RESCUE MY HARD DISK ? |

Hello,
I have the same exact 610 media center computer with the same exact problem. At first the computer would turn itself off,and there would be a horrible spiking type noise coming from the speakers.Well anyways 1 week later it wont even power on at all.But i also still get the ethernet light on,but besides the back panel there are no other signs of life.So here i am like you onder. With my computer taken apart and my power supply in my lap.I am confused.Should i just throw this thing away?I just bought it off ebay, and it basically self distructed.Do you have any ideas for getting a new power supply?I will not give into those crooks at gateway either. Can one of you guys give me some advice??
thanks ,Joe Farries

Wow! What a great, Gateway proprietary MESS!
Onder Y.,
Considering the amount of work you did with that "610 Media Center" you should consider building your own PCs in the future. They'd certainly be easier to service than that Gateway.

Onder,
Thank you for the help link, you did a good job with your media center. At the same time you didnt have to give into those jerks at gateway.Which made it even more impressive. So your psu and hard drive was dead>?Do you think that could be my problem?I spoke to my computer repair guy,and he said that since my ethernet light was on that the power supply was fine.He said that it was probably a memory problem.Like i said the computer was turning itself off for a couple of weeks. Then i restored windows. The computer would stay on,and seemed work well for a week. Then it just stopped dead and will no longer turn on.Well i have my computer guy coming out today.I will post later to let you know what he says. Thanks so much for your help!!
