| ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Problems
Can somebody please help me I'm probably going to go insane! I purchased the below system and since day one I've had nothing but problems.
After building the system I started to receive BSOD reporting a stop code of 0x0000009C.
Causes could be:
• System bus errors
• Memory errors that may include parity or Error Correction Code (ECC) problems
• Cache errors in the processor or hardware
• Translation Lookaside Buffers (TLB) errors in the processor
• Other CPU-vendor specific detected hardware problems
• Vendor-specific detected hardware problems
I orginally had corsair memory installed so I exchanged the memory for crucial to try to sort out the problem still the BSOD persisted. Changed the motherboard still problem persisted. I am sending my CPU back to manufacturer for a replacement. Hopeing this will sort out the problem but I feel doubtful. Could someone please help me before I put a brick through the damn thing.
My System Spec:
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
3500+ Winchester
1Gb Crucial Ballistix 3200 CL2
36Gb Western Digital Raptor
76Gb Western Digital Raptor
200Gb Western Digital Caviar
XFX 6800GT PCI-E
Thermalright XP-120 HS |

| ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe Problems
The CPU has never been overclocked nor has the memory or bus! It runs at a happy 30C with a 120mm 2000RPM Thermaltake fan pumping cool air on to it and thermalright XP120 heatsink (using artic silver thermal grease)! I don't like to dabble in overclocking can become costly!
I am using a high quality Thermaltake (WA0049) 680W power supply which I had running with an Intel CPU no less than a month ago and the AMD has half the power consumption of the Intel! I have a Thermaltake Xaser III case with 7 fans all running at 2000RPM all fairly new (Ventilation is not an issue with this case).
I have not tried the drive thing but I will try that in a bit which might help but they all ran happily together on my Intel system.
I did try to lock the voltages and multipliers on the CPU to manufacturers recommendations of 1.4v and x11 but that did not aid me in any way at all. The system merely went more insane. Looped round and round the boot up sequence. Is it normal for the CPU to run hotter than normal when in the boot sequence?
The BIOS is fully updated to the latest version 1004. |

My a8n-sli gives me 0x0000009c stops occasionally. I tried installing an audigy 2zs gamer sound card and that stops it from booting. It gets to the Windows progress bar and then gives the 0x0000009c stop code. I notice that the motherboard announces that the POST is completed with the onboard sound enabled but with it disabled and the sound card installed it does not make that announcement. I RMA'd the card and it worked once with the new card. then, the stop code and it would not reboot. I tried both sticks of ram and then just one and then just the other. I pulled the only other pci card i had, my wifi adapter card. It still wouldn't boot . I tried the card in different PCI slots, still won't work. I had my comp set up with RAID but I realized there wasn't much point to that so I formated and reinstalled windows w/o RAID to see if that made a difference, no. The highest temp my cpu gets to is 44c. Possibly related to the problem is a phantom device, windows keeps detecting an unknown PCI device and wanting to install it.

I recently got a new Asus A8n Sli Deluxe motherboard and was experiencing the same problem, with my pc continually restarting. I only got around the problem when i completely reinstalled windows from cd |
