printer sharing trouble with winxp

I have a HP V40 printer/scanner outfit. I downloaded the new HP drivers(instead of using xp default ones) on the machine that the printer is hooked up to.

Before driver change,everything worked fine. Both machines could use the printer.

With the new drivers on my machine(which has printer hooked to it),we couldn't use the printer with the other machine on the network.

So,I uninstalled the HP drivers and let MS drivers take over once again.

Now,we cannot use the printer with the "other" machine on our network.

I think i may have clicked on something wrong under the "ports" tab.

Any assistance would be appreciated. I m totally network stupid

oh,my machine(with printer hooked up to it) is running xp pro. other box is xp home.

Try installing the new drivers on both machines.

Go on both machines, and install the new drivers on both, then go to control panel on each pc and add a new Shared Printer. I did this and It works fine.
