kudenberg says:

ШДБїςГяЁдк says:
well you have to get into a flash bios screen to do it
kudenberg says:
yeah trouble
ШДБїςГяЁдк says:
and you'll have to get teh motherbord number and stuff, and get default bios online on your comp
ШДБїςГяЁдк says:
but that isn't the problem
ШДБїςГяЁдк says:
you gotta get into the flash screen

ШДБїςГяЁдк says:
if you look in the manual
ШДБїςГяЁдк says:
there might be a mobo jumper to reset bios
ШДБїςГяЁдк says:
if your lucky, im not sure
kudenberg says:
Ill look hold on
ШДБїςГяЁдк says:
ive never really heard of a problem like this so im just shooting ideas :/
ШДБїςГяЁдк says:
ill ask on timo.com
| Alright, so that is his problem. He needs to get his CPU Multiplyer and FSB on default, his voltage on default, etc. I havn't ever really heard much about this so I was just shooting Ideas. I'll give him a link to this thread and maybe he can help you understand the problem some more. Thanks for your help guys. I think it will really be apreciated. |

If this is a desktop pc, he should be able to reset to defaults by a jumper switch on the motherboard (go to the PC or motherboard manufacturer's website support and make SURE he knows what he is doing) or by simply removing the cmos battery for about 15 minutes, then reinstall battery. Either way, he would need to reset the cmos clock after bootup.
Sounds like this is a person that needs to be very careful with his experiments. If he is on his own computer now, maybe he should give it to his Mom.

I mean no offence to my friend, but its not "cool" to screw stuff up, and it turns out quite bad, as we can see here...
He mentioned to me to take the CMOS batery out, but I told him maybe not to do it cause he probably didn't want to screw anything up worse... But I'll tell him to do that. Quote: |

| Thats a hard one jk keith lol |

after he resets the cmos either with the jumper or by pulling the battery have him boot into the bios and load optimal setup if there is the option...if not load default setup. That'll make sure all the settings are good . Also, he may be able to speed up the clearing of the cmos by pulling the battery..starting the computer (it won't do anything...just the fans spin and stuff..and maybe it beeps at him) then shut it down, put the battery back in and start it. he better damn well hope he didn't fry the mobo, proc, or video card lmao...don't dog on him too hard..we all have to learn..but to learn on your mom's computer is just stupid (i know..i tried it ) lol...it's all part of the learning process...tell him to look around for a cheep computer..maybe even one on the side of the road that's broken...get 3 or 4 broken computers that people are throwing away and see if you can make a working computer out of the parts! that's how i learned!! (now i have like 6 old crappy computers in my basement...lol) |

Me and him have pretty equal computer knowledge, it seems, most times... I just don't mess aroudn with crap unless I know exactly what I'm doing...
Not to say I havn't screwed stuff up... I forgot to put my MOBO SPacers in on my first built computer... lol... good thing eveything was ok after that... But yeah... thanks for the help guys. |
