    Can't delete file

     
    I'm trying to delete a file but there is an error that says that another program is using it. My question is how can i know the program that is using my file? Thanks!

    try booting up in safe mode and then delete it

    use wholockme. install it, right click the file, and see what program is using it, then cancel the program that's using it..then you can delete it

    just press contol, alt ,delete. go to processes and end task the program from there , then u can delete the file.

    Actually, the file is an update from Mcafee. I'm using Win XP pro.

    also why would use want to delete files used by mcafee security

    What JP said, boot in safe mode and then delete the file or try ending McAfee in Task Manager and then delete the file.

    what account are u in? are u the admin or the guest?

    a lot of people having problems with XP pro. So do I
