Broken power pins on HDD

Hello,
I suppose sometimes I don't know my own strength because the other day I accidentally broke the 1st and 2nd pins of the set of 4 power pins on the back of an important HDD. I've heard you can solder them back on, or solder some new connectors directly to the board of the HDD. The pins snapped right where the plastic of the back of the HDD begins. All I need is to be able to access the HDD for about 10 min so's I can ghost it over to a non-brutalized HDD. Thanx for any help.

You can get a cable with bare wires on one end and a molex connector on the other. You can solder it to the hard drive and bypass the broken connector.

I have a bunch of these cables, if you want I'll send you one (for free). PM me or e-mail me if you're interested.

There have been a few hard drives that had a cover over the bottom. You could not get to the circuit board easily...but those were not among the majority.

You can pick up a Y adapter at Rat Shack or any computer shop...cut off the two ends that you will not need and solder the yellow-black-black-red to the circuit board right at the back of the connector where you broke this pins off...plug in your supply there and it will work ok for you.

What kind of drive is it?..and gb size?...what will you do with the drive after you get your data off of it?...I have several old dead drives here and could possibly swap out the socket.
