long delay after pressing "print" before option box pops up

When I press the "print" button (regardless of application) there is a long pause before the dialog box actually pops up. I thought that this was because I have 3 network printers in my list. My first idea was to make my default printer a local one (adobe), but that hasn't seemed to help.

does anyone have any ideas about what could be causing this problem?

Do you have a printer installed that is pointing to a share that is no longer there?

I'll give that a shot.... As I said, I figured it had to do w/ the network printers, but I didn't delete any...
