More Laptop DVDRW/CDRW combo problems.
Hey guys, been having a few problems with my laptop.
When I first recieved my laptop it had a QSI CDRW/DVD SBW242U. This started having major problems reading CDs and DVDs, so I had to get it replaced.
Replaced it with a Slim Type DVDRW SOSW-852S in November. This has now started to develop the same problem. It can read some CDs, CDRs, DVD+R's, but will only spin twice for a DVD Video (EDIT: or DVD Software), then have the laser head slam into the side of the drive...
EDIT: I have tried a CD Lens cleaner, but that didn't help at all. Been very tempted to just take the thing out of the laptop, open it up and blow into it as hard as I can, but but that would do more harm than good (I guess).
Seeing as it has happened with two drives, I am hoping that it is a dust problem, and hoping just as much that it can be fxed (not buying a third drive for my laptop in under a year).
Thanks in advance.
