Monitor not turning on - SOLVED =)
Hello, got a bit of a problem. Well a big problem.
I was using fruity loops the other week and all of a sudden the screen turned it self off and i havn't been able to get it on since.
It will not turn on when the computer is turned on.
I have changed the motherboard, same problem.
I have tried the graphics card in another computer, it works fine.
I have got another power supply but it is still not working.
Tried disconnecting all the hdd's and cd/dvd drives, no change.
Also swapping the ram about, still no change.
I'm hoping its no the processor because i'm tottaly skint
My specs are
Abit KD7A MB / Asus A7V600-X (The two MB i have tried)
Athlon XP 2200
Geforce 4 MX 440
256 DDR Crucial 266mhz
Thats all i have plugged in at the moment
Can anyone help?
oh yeah sorry forgot to mention i tried the monitor on another computer and it works fine

Not to ask the obvious, but have you tried the monitor on another computer?

Maybe not in this case but in others.

You wouldn't happen to have a PCI video card laying around would you?

Try pushing the card into the motherboard when you start up the computer, try it a couple times, you have to get exactly the right amount of pressure on it. I had this same card a while back, and it did the same thing to me, just stopped turning the monitor on. The problem was that one of the solder points was broken, and it stopped connecting the monitor. It worked fine when you pushed it in, and then let go once the monitor turned on, but i just ended up getting a new card.

I have an inno3D MX440 that sometimes won't turn on the monitor either. I had to keep restarting the system. Sometimes it would take me 45 mins just to get the monitor to turn on. Never did figure out what was wrong with it though.
