| increasing the # of options in MS -word symbol menu
I have tried searching on google and going throught the MSword help, but evertying keeps pointing me to equation editor. I am trying to insert a specific mathematical symbol into a document of mine and it's not in my list of available symbols (in the insert>symbol menu). However, the guy at the desk next to me has the one I want as well as a bunch of others. I'd like to know how I can increase the number of symbols that are available to me.
can anyone please help me out here?
thanks

Different symbols are availbale depending on the font you have selected. Maybe try changing the font.
What symbol are you looking for? |

I know that there symbols shown are font dependent, but I'm sure that there is also a way to import more symbols.... anyone? |

±
this one? character code is 00B1. Normal text. Alt +0177 is the default shortcut key for me. Better yet, if that symbol is it. Just highlight it in my post and copy it. |

Insert --> Symbol
+/- is one of the defaults along the bottom.
You might want to goto start --> control panel --> add/remove programs and "change" your MS office install. Make sure you install all the addins and stuff |
