| cardbus Pcmcia not detected by win98
I've tried to set up unsuccessfully a PCMCIA card (CNET CardBus) in my Compaq notebook,
I followed the instructions and windows see it, but at the end, I got a device manager
error 29 - the device is disabled because BIOS doesn't assign an IRQ.
So, I've noticed that my Notebook detects OK an Ethernet PC-Card but this one
CardBus adapter is not read by the system.
for advice of compaq, I've reset and updated the bios, but nothing change.
Whan Can I do |

Whan Can I do | for your info: my notebook-Presario 1246 comes with One Type II PC Card slot with support for 32-bit CardBus. So I'm sure that my ethernet card (is a 32 bit CardBus adapter) matches the notebook specification. |

Please examine: Is it 16-bit legacy PCMCIA cards that aren't working, or the 32-bit Cardbus cards? (Cures are different, so you need to tell us this first.) |

Hi Peter, I've noticed that my Notebook reads successfully other Ethernet PC Card but this one CardBus adapter is not read by my notebook (compaq). Also, The new one Ehernet card works ok in other notebook (toshiba) |

Please answer my question. Are the working cards 16-bit legacy PCMCIA or Cardbus, and what type is the non-working card? |
