help hard drive problem

help hard drive problem

can someone please help installed new psu today every thing worked fine then realised hadnt connected dvd rom so switched off connected it now pc wont start if i disconnect hard drive it powers up if i connect molex connecter to hard drive pc cuts out and wont do anything tried hard drive on its own and still no joy can anyone help please

maybe it's a bad molex connector...shorting out or something like that. Also, you didn't plug the power into the harddrive while the computer was on did you?

have tried other molexs with no joy and i didnt plug it in when it was on turned it off first.i just dont now what else i can try

You should make sure all cables and connections for all components (drives, video/sound cards, etc.) are properly attached and inserted firmly.

have tried everything even with nothing connected only the hard drive as soon as i press the power button the power light flashes then nothing.do you think i need a new hard drive
