For future reference.... yes, you need to reset the modem, THEN renew the IP address on your computer. Assuming it's set to automatically acquire an IP address, you can either reset the computer or run "ipconfig /renew" from the command line.
When she clicks on the wireless connection icon in the taskbar, what ip address does she have in TCP Ip properties? Is it blank, Is there a gateway address? Is DHCP server on. Is there a DNS 1 and 2 address.
