Hi I'm Baffled!?!
I have a Motherboard it says its SATA compatible in the Manual...Fine.
Currently Its running 2 IDE ATA HD's...Great.
next to the IDE connection on my motherboard the SATA addon connections are also there.
But of my knowledge of SATA HD's I thought that SATA HD's run off completly different connections. I really don't get how it all works ie. Do SATA HD's use the current ATA Cable's but have a secondary smaller cable to go with it? or...
I really can't explain what I mean to well, If you can decipher what I mean please help me.
Thanks in advance |

erm.. No
it uses a seperate cable
there is a SATA connector to connect to the SATA drives and there is IDE connector to connect to IDE drives. and ATA cable is 80 conductor 40 pin flat or round cable but the SATA cable is i think 8 connectors (?) |

The name of the Shuttle/box is the SN41g2 V3,
I have to check the exact model of the MOBO when I get home. |
