dual booting

I have a homemade computer. I have 2 hdds. One is my old hdd with Win2000 already loaded and my old programs. The other hdd is one I got from a friend it has Winxp Pro already installed with other programs. I want to install both hard drives and set them up for dual booting. The problem is that the OS's are already loaded and I do not have a copy of Winxp Pro to reinstall it (have copy of Win2000). Can I do this without having to reinstall the operating systems and losing all my programs etc. Please tell me how
