My optical drive is having trouble reading discs. I put a disc in the drive, close drawer, and the access light goes on. The drive starts to spin, and then the light goes out and stops. can anyone help please? |

Are you sure the disk is supposed to have autorun on it? Or someone may have disabled the "run on insert" feature.

Miriam, look at the disk in Windows explorer and see if there is a autorun.exe file on it. If there isn't that's why it won't run. |

What happens if you put another disk in that drive? Will it autorun? |

Ok maybe I explain this wrong. When I put a disc in the E drive it wants to start but it doesn't. I than try the disc in the D drive and that one starts with no problem. |

Try any other disk in the E:\ drive and see if it will autorun. |

I try that already. I don't get it. It seens like it wants to start with the light on, and than light goes off and it stops. I try blowing the drive with a blower, I thought maybe it might have dust in it. But nothing |

Did it autorun with another disk?
Other than this autorun problem are there any other problems with the E:\ drive? Can it otherwise read data from a cd? |
