Have you tried running in AGP 2x mode instead of 4x? If you have a VIA chipset motherboard, install the latest 4-in-1 drivers, and instead of turbo mode, select normal. That'll give you AGP 2x.
Also check the BIOS for AGP settings.
Not sure if this is the problem, but you might as well try, right?

Hi
You forgot to mention your MoBo... if you have VIA chipset, then it is known that there are problems when using winXP / VIA / nVidia newer drivers combo ... it is somthing related to memory controller (i think)...
Anyhow, i would suggest that you grab the 22.50 drivers (not official), they worked great on my winXP, GF2 Pro and KT266A chipset ...
After you remove the installed drivers, i suggest that you run a utility to remove all files left from the older drivers ... then you can install the drivers you want ....
Also check your MoBo manufacture site for any updated BIOS release and see if they list your problem with the new fix list ...

Great nVidia reference site: http://www.geforcefaq.com
Have you installed the latest chipset drivers? Monitor drivers? Since you have a super7 board with a k6-x, you can also try these BIOS options:
AGP transfers: 1x (2x if stable)
AGP side-banding: disable (enable if stable)
AGP aperature: 1/2 memory (or 64/128mb in your case)
Fast Read/Write turnaround: disable
Cache write buffering: disable
Cache read buffering: disable (enable if stable)
CPU-to-PCI buffering: disable (enable if stable)
Assign video IRQ: enable
Shadow video bios: disable
Cache video bios: disable
Good Luck,

Rob still doesn't work. I got a couple of questions
1. I can't seem to find the DMA option in my CD Rom Properties
2. How can I uninstall the 4 in 1 VIA drivers? There is no uninstall option in the add and remove program in the control panel? |
