freezing problems

hi

I've finally built my computer and its working great...apart from the annoying freezing. Does anyone know what would cause this? I'll be in the middle of playing a game or sometimes i won't even be doing anything, but it will just freeze up. Whats wierd is that it'll only do that for like five minutes, usually. Then the computer will beep, and everythings fine again. It happens quite often now, so does anyone have any suggestions? This is my computer if it helps:

Athlon 64 3200+
Asus A8N-E mobo
MSI 6600GT VGA
Western Digital 120 gb HD
Wintek pc3200 ddr RAM (1gb)
Thermaltake tt420 420W

Run Memtest could be bad RAM..

you could try some older drivers

how do i run Memtest?...some other people have said it could be bad RAM as well.

I've read elsewhere a problem with the "HSI bridge" overheating. I tried everything including spending $90 on a new power supply and still got the freeze. Could not play any games without getting it. Finally took it back and got an ATI card (which I had before and had no problems just wanted to upgrade). After everything I have read on the web it seems to 6600GT's are junk.
