| Virus from dell driver site?
Ok, so i get a new 700m laptop, format it and install xp (get rid of all dell stuff/partition for linux) reach into the box to find the driver cd and i see a note "This laptop does not require a resource cd or OS disk!" Wow how helpfull. So i go to dells site, download my nic drivers but they say they have PSW.Banker virus (avg free). So i figure maybe my desktop is infected, goto my brothers desktop, same thing. So i goto my dads apple laptop, download em and put em on, but i put avg free on my laptop and the install files still say they are infected (no other files are they say)
Ran a online scan from ca.com found nothing. Downloaded the file at work(mcafee corp) nothing found.
So is AVG giving false positives? Is dell infected? Is my network infected (doubt that, i keep everyone in my fam uptodate, monitor firewall & traffic).
here is one my avg says has a virus: http://support.dell.com/support/down...leaseid=R85255 |

I dont understand why 3 copies of avg (all downloaded at different times) show it has the same virus. |

That means that your network might be infected. |

Well, you will find out if someone on your network is infected when you reconnect. Bill in SD, CA
