Hi,
I have a 74 gig raptor(primary) with the os and 120 gig samsung 7200 rpm for storing music and video files. I just put together a brand new system with all my drivers and stuff installed, and when I tried to install halo, i got the CRC error, \common\bin\.... doesn't match the file in the setup's .cab file. The medium from which you are running the setup may be corrupted..... This happened with many different files during the installation process. I tried switching cd rom, deleting temp files, fragmenting, disk check, turning off DMA, and nothing worked. So I bit the bullet and deleated both partritions and reformatted, installed windows pro again. Well everything went fine for awhile, and halo installed fine. I also installed a few more games. Today when trying to install the Asus Inter video Windvd suite I got the Intervideo\Common\Bin\GPIP8ecs, along with other files. doesn't match the file in the setup's .cab file. The medium from which you are running the setup may be corrupted.....
Could my problem be with one of the hard drives, or the compatability of them together? I read somewhere that sometimes when different S-ATA harddrives are hooked up toggether sometimes their is corruption in the files. Should I just get rid of both and go with a raid 0 set up?
Thanks for any help
Matt
