Simple motherboard compatibility questoin...
I recently bought a P4 3.0E processor from Newegg and now Im looking to get a motherboard. My problem is all the ATX motherboards I see support the 800 FSB on the P4 but the specs for the memory are that they support DDR 400 (PC 3200) and the memory from my current PC is DDR 333 (PC 2700)... now can those motherboards support DDR 333 considering they support a faster memory (DDR 400)? Im not to sure if this is true and would appreciate it if someone was to reply back with an answer as im waiting to place an order for an Intel compatible motherboard and get my PC screeeaming compared to my AMD XP 1500+
Many thanks in advance!!!

While the motherboard would support the PC-2700 you would be underclocking the CPU which Intel recommends not doing. Get some PC-3200 memory.

If this would work for you, Circuit City has 512mb of Kingston PC3200 ram for $17.99 after rebates. It is CAS 3 but for $18 ....
