Need help buring my own DVD's

I've already edited and made my DVD on both Sonic MyDVD, and Roxio Easy Media Creator. Both programs have done what I need them to do until it comes time to burn the DVD. Everytime I burn it, there are errors on it causing the disc to either just stop during playback or pause and then skip ahead 10-15 seconds and on some players 10 minutes.
Is this a software issue, burner issue, or disc issue? Please HELP!

Thanks!

Welcome to Techimo,

Make sure you aren't burning at a speed higher than what the media is rated for (it should say like 4x or 8x on the disc).

Have you tried playing the disc on your computer rather than in a stand-alone dvd player? If the issue repeats itself there is a problem with either what you are burning to the disc, or the burn process itself. Kind of hard to pin-point without trying out a few things. Attempt to burn the same movie at a low speed (like 2.4x or something). This should eliminate the afforementioned problem with the media speed compatibility.

What brand of DVD media is it and what DVD burner is it?

Thumbs up
Thanks

I tried burning the same media on some new blank discs I got that are actually rated faster than my burner is. I was supposed to download some software to allow my burner to use them and if I did no, it would burn slower at 2.4x instead of 4x. It worked!!! So thank you for your reply, even though I accidentally figured it out myself.
I appreciate it cause this has been a huge pain in my butt for a few weeks now.
