I built this computer yesterday, and it's been randomly restarting ever since I turned it on the first time... Even while installing Windows. I switched out the power supply to no avail and also tried updating the BIOS. Neither have worked, and I've checked all my connections and whatnot. Anyone have any more suggestions as to what might be going on? |

since you built it yesterday im guessing that software for the hardware such as drivers and stuff are all up to date...
It is also common that the graphics card of the PC may also be causing the PC to restart too, as this was a probelm for my built PC. after i updates everything on tehre, it seemed to work perfectly without restarting unexpectedly. however, i suggest that you try one thing at a time and then move on down your checklist if the previous one does'nt work.
What about the cooling solution in the PC, is it doing a good job?? If not, this also triggers the PC to a restart when it gets to hot.

Test your memory... www.memtest86.com
What are the specs of the computer?
What is the make/model of your psu? |

Well, if the psu you replaced it with isn't any better, you'll just think it isn't bad.
EDIT: You just edited yours I see!
If you can try swapping it with a good power supply...there is a sticky about psu's somewhere.
Ah here it is: http://www.techimo.com/forum/t124252.html |

I put in a CompUSA 300 W psu to test it, it was the quickest thing I could get ahold of |

Ya, neither of those are probably any good...try running it with the bare minimum installed...hdd, mobo, ram, and the gfx card if you don't have integrated. |
