Hi...... I'm new to this forum. I have a problem I hope someone can help me with. I've looked through the search but didn't find what I was looking for. Most likely because I'm a MAC user, not many around these days I guess.
(I use this for a sign business). I had the Buslink external HD (Model ML30/30GB) Connected to a G-3 MAC running OS9.8. I had the buslink divided into 3 partitions. I also have a g-4 (That I have in the past run the buslink on also). I have since upgraded the g-4 to Panhter OSX10.
We decided to put the panther OSX10 on the g-3 and upgrade the g-4 with the newer OSX Tiger operating system. I have new larger external drives so we backed up everything on the new drives before making the switch.
My problem is, one of the partitions on the buslink did not copy to the new drive. (Should have checked, but didn't). We went back to the buslink drive to retrieve the missing partition but it doesn't show up on either machine. We tried running classic, also tried rebooting in system 9. stil no buslink. We then took the g-3 out of production and replaced it with a mini MAC g-4. Did't even try to boot it up on that since as I understand the buslink drivers won't work on system 10. We then loaded system 9 on the old g-3 but it still won't recognize the buslink.
We also tried downloading newer drivers off the buslink site, but still no buslink. My son and I are quickly running out of ideas. That final partition on the buslink has no less than 2 years worth of artwork and logos on it.
We first upgraded the g-4 and it went like clockwork. We ran into problems upgrading the g-3 another story for another time maybe. For a couple days there we were operating under murphy's law (If it can go wrong it will).
I'm sure this post is as clear as mud by now, If you need more info, please let me know and I'll supply whatever I forgot here. I would sleep much better if I had the data back. Triple backup next time.
Thank you for any help you can provide.
