Computer Does not Start

For the past couple of weeks mt desktop has not been working.
The problem being that it does not boot up at all, no bios, no beep codes, just a blank screen. Everything turns on, hd starts up, keyboard, lights on on case, fans spin. I know the problem is not with my hd, cpu, mob, or vid card.

I tested the hd in another pc and it detected it and worked, the vid card is new(x850 xt radeon), and so is the mob and cpu ( 2.8 amd barton, abit nf7 v2)

Ive been told that if my ram(kingston hyperx pc2700) is bad a similar problem can occur is this true, and what steps should i take to see if it is the problem.

Any other suggesting would be helpful.

How are you so sure they aren't bad?

Just because they are new does NOT mean there isn't a chance that they are bad.

make sure the motherboard is not being grounded by the case at all.

i had a simi lar problem a couple of weeks ago with a pc i run FAD on..........everything seemed to light up......but nothing on the monitor and no beep errors.....nuthin

i did two things and all is now well.

i cleared the cmos. and i added a fresh coat of arctic silver to the processor/heatsink. (they were stuck together....)

no problems since. i suspect that clearing the cmos was the real solution........you might give that a try.
