Shuttle XPC SB61G2v3 smart fan problem

Hi all,
I' hoping someone can come up with a suggestion. I've just updated the BIOS on my Shuttle and installed an intel 3.2Ghz processor. Everything works, except the fans are at full throttle. When I had a 2.4Ghz Celeron, it all worked fine, but now the fans never change speed and is very noisy. I've checked all the cables, and they are all connected.

I've edited the BIOS, and set the fan speeds etc. but still to no avail. I even installedthe XPC tools, and the temp. is about 46 degrees, which is way less than the default 68 degrees.

Does anyone have any idea?

This is what I'd try (one at a time):

Test 1. Reset the CMOS. See what happens.

Test 2: Reinstall the Celeron, see what happens. Compare the temps with the Celly vs the Pentium, for grins and giggles.

Maybe the updated BIOS is messed up. Or, the BIOS might default to max speed if anything other than a certain CPU is installed; this might be in the manual.

I've reinstalled the BIOS and reset the CMOS. No change in fan speed. I'll change the processor back on the weekend and see what happens...I hope the BIOS isn't set to default, I've changed the speed to Ultra low now.
