CD Drive automatically Ejects CDs - Help!

Hi:

Recently, I unplugged my PC to clean behind it. (It's a Dell Dimension 4400 running Windows XP...about 4 years old)

Even since I put everything back together, everything runs fine except for my CD drive. If I put in a music CD, it starts to read it, but then ejects automatically. If I put a blank CD in, the drive tries to read it, but then just stops...does not eject blank CDs only music ones.

Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks!

No, but I used a bustbuster to clean the back and front of the tower.

Is there an error message that comes along with the ejection of the CD? Have you tried other CD-Rom's such as games, software, other music CD's, etc.?

Try disabling the device in Device Manager, then manually push the tray to close and refresh to redect the device.

Send a message via AIM to justinw
Does it automatically eject even if there isn't a cd in it? I had that problem before. Or does it eject only audio cd's?
