How do I use a recovery partition (disk 0) to format my entire C: and...

restore my computer to it factory shipped state?

Some guy was helping me with deleting everything on my computer, but he signed off.

I just need to know how to use the recovery partition.

Sorry, crystal ball not working. Please post the make and model of your system.

If it's a recent model Dell, you hit CTRL-F11 at boot up to use the PC Restore utility.

I am not sure, but I think you hold down the F10 key while you reboot your computer. I know that is the routine for HP computers.
