Memory problem, please help!?

Hi all,

I have a DFI lanparty Nforce4 ultra D mobo, I orginally put in Hynix 2x256mb pc3200 of ram dual channel memory, and all has worked great thus far, I recently bought 2x512mb of Samsung memory pc3200 and added it to have a total of 1.5gb of ram, at first my system wouldn't boot up, it would just stay on the Nforce 4 logo screen, then I tried taking the Hynix ram out and just using the Samsung, I got a blank screen with no booting up, (no Nforce4 logo) I figured well maybe the ram is a bit too cold (I had recently just picked it up at a purolator office), so finally I tired using all the ram like I had originally done and it booted up, but I'd have to restart the computer like 2 or 3 times because it wouldn't get past the Nforce 4 logo, when it did finally boot up to windows I went into system properties it says I still only have 512mb of ram, when I should have 1.5gb....what's up with that, and why isn't my pc booting up with just the Samsung memory in by itself, it's brand new ram!?!?

there is always the possbility that the ram is bad.
Nonetheless running 4 sticks of ram on amd64 based mobo's have been known to cause problems, such as extremely high timings, incorrect speeds (downlclocking)... II haven't heard of this though.

Do you have the latest bios, drivers... etc.?

oh and for the record, the COLDER the parts run, the BETTER they perform

Like Solo said cold is good.

Sounds like the Samsung is bad or incompatable.
Try the Samsung one stick at a time to see if maybe only one stick is bad.
