Looks like I have to replace it than right? I don't know what is a heatsink, what do I look for? Iam pretty good at determining what is in the inside of the pc, but not good with names. |

The fan and heatsink would be visible on the main system board (AKA motherboard). That should be the only one on there. The best way to verify that is to take the case off of your PC and power it on and see if the fan spins up. Also check that the fan in the back is spinning too. If the fan on your CPU isn't then replace it. If the fan on the back of your power supply isn't spinning, replace the power supply.

You seem to have created a duel boot, not an easy thing for most people.
Getting rid of 98 is not easy and usually dosen't work very good so if I was going to do it I would either FDISK and remove the partitions or "0" fill/wipe with Killdisk then boot with the XP disk and let it do the partition & format and install.

I know, but what am I going to do? I brought the heat sink with fan and was able to install it. The pc has not been freezing at all now, but I need to get rid of the other operating system now. Don't know how |

There is only one good way to do it and thats to clear the Hard Drive of both operating systems first then install XP, this is because the boot sector is on the C:\ drive with Win 98.
I have tried to remove 98 a few tmes and only had it work once and even then it had a lot of problems, not worth the effort. |
