Which mouse is this?

I think it's optical and possibly wireless.

It is probably from the surface of the table...on my desk, the optical I bought a few years ago never worked...because of the wood grain on it...try a ball mouse, and see if you have the same problem...just to make sure...

This happens with opticals from time-to-time. Especially Microsoft mice. My work uses them and I've had 3 different models that all did it. The one I have now does it too.

It doesn't matter what type of mouse pad or surface I use so it's something with how the laser is tracking I guess.

I just have to live with it.

The distance between the mouse and surface varies. Put the mouse on a flat (not shiny) book or mouse pad and it'll change your life.

updating to the latest Intellipoint drivers often fixes this too...
surface is very important as well

Go to the Manufacturer's website
Look for the mouse (maybe in the drivers/support section)
Download the latest drivers
Install them
Bob's yer uncle.
