Comp isnt running right at all...

When i boot the computer up, it will detect the masters & slaves and then as its booting from cd it stops and theres an error message which says, "error loading operating system" or "Unable to detect system disk". So being as stubborn as i am i kept on restarting my comp untill it was detected and some noises came out of my comp most likely my hdd, and when xp is loading it takes ages and loading applications takes long periods of time as well. if i try and run a game such as CS or any other full screen application the noise will start again and the computer will crash with a blue screen saying at the bottom "Physical memory dump" which causes my comp to take a while to start up again. If i could get some help on the matter it would be greatly appreciated.

Wow this could be the motherboard or the hdd i would try swaping the hdd and put a new mobo in there and see if that works.

Sounds like a failing primary HDD. The "error loading operating system" and "unable to detect system disk" are signs of the system being unable to find the active partition the OS is installed on.
