Duaghter has bought a second hand laptop running Windows Me left it running and the screen saver came on unfortrunately it was password protected by the previous owner and she cant remember the password now we cant get past the laptop asking for the screensaver password it also dosnt boot into the bios anyone got any idea how i can get around this please help

well power off the laptop... Then reboot into windows. goto the screen saver settings and uncheck the password protect option. That should turn it off. Not sure what it exactly says as I havent used ME in ages. You can try contacting the computer company and see if they can help you with the bios.
Laptop boots straight into windows and the screensaver comes on instantly and asks for the password so unfortunately cant change any setting: ps, as the laptops boots it says some thing like returning to windows thanks for the speedy reply anyway
