| ipod viedo USB device not recognized
I just went out and got the 30gb ipod video and installed the software and then tried to connect my ipod to my computer. When I plugged it in it told me the USB Device was not recognized. Has this happened to anyone else? Anyone know what I can do?
Thanks,
Brian |

It says in the ipod video manual that you need to install itunes FIRST and then connect the ipod to the computer.

I can only relate the experience I had installing my daughter's Ipod to our computer. I could not make it work using the front panel USB ports at all even though they work for the camera and a thumb drive. Kept coming up as an unrecognized device. I went through the registry and edited out a whole bunch of stuff several times associated with the bad install. I spent most of the day trying to figure it out. I finally plugged into the back USB port (directly to the motherboard) and it worked immediately.

I'm SO confused! I didn't even put the right time zone. It's after 1a here and I have been looking at this iPod 30GB since 8:30p!!!! I saw where it needs a "special plug in" to work but I don't know WHERE the one is that the post before me was referring to. HOW do you get to the USB at the "mother board"? I have iTunes downloaded, I installed the cd that came w/ it. And like i said, it's been plugged in since 8:30 and it STILL reads: Do Not Disconnect w/ a red circle & a line going through it. Will SOMEONE (ANYONE) help me!?!? Thanx! CC |
