Acronis True Image not perfect
I cloned my perfectly working primary disk over to my new WD Raptor, booted from the raptor, and all is not so well. After backing the thing out for the past 24 hours, I have been getting system hangs and just now, the "blue screen of death." This is bad. Windoze did the whole chkdsk deal, flushing everything out. Typically, if i let the box idle, it will freeze. I have the display set to go off after an hour, so don't know if that process is enough to trigger it. Lastly, Acronis rearanged the desktop icons on my primary disk (sata RAID-1) pair of WD's.
Update: Just got this error msg: "Error: Seek error rate changeds from 200 to 100." But the error is not logged.Last edited by Zoltar; January 18th, 2006 at 02:38 PM.

The only true good cloning softwares are the ones that work in dos or boot to a floppy disk.

I've yet to find a good reason not to use the old version of Ghost (2003) that runs off a single bootable floppy. Ghost also can backup your drive image to a single bootable DVD containing the Ghost program. Acronis has a good reputation, so why can't they incorporate features like Ghost has?

Has it occurred to anybody in the Quantitative Easing and Easing crowd that we have a Stock Market recovery but not an Employment recovery because we don't have the reinvestment in our own Economy...
