Do you mean the network status icon in the lower-right corner that signifies a good connection or disconnected cable to a network? If so, Control-Panel - Network Connections. Goto the properties of the connection you want to show in the taskbar and check the box "Show icon in taskbar when connected".
Or did you actually delete your network cable? JK

"it" ... You'll need to be a little more specific. Since we can't see your screen and weren't there when it happened, you'll need to explain in detail what the problem is (especially since you cannot 'delete' a network cable ) |

So this area is blank for you where there should be a LAN connection?

when I go to Network connections it states that both my network connections are unplugged (Broadcom 440 x10/100 Integrated controller and my Instant Wireless USB Network).
But when I go to Device Manager both devices are working correctly and there are no conflicts. |

Ah - that's a bit different than I thought. Is there a wireless network at your location? Since you mentioned you are using a cable, I am guessing no. The cable - will it work on another system? or have you tried a different cable?
You said this happened after using the 'Unplug or Eject hardware wizard'? What were you unplugging? |
