Question
Help with spybot, spyware and avast please.

I downloaded Avast last night and then my lap top went crazy. Today I got Spyware Doctor. What else do I need to clean up my computer. Running Windows XP. I also have norton, should I get rid of it?

If you already had Norton installed and you loaded Avast as well, it's no wonder that your laptop "went crazy." What does that mean anyway?

Remove every bit of Norton/Symantec from your add/remove programs. Get Adaware & Microsoft Defender as well...both free.

Spyware doctor says I have 756 infections found but spybot only found one. What does this mean?

Spyware doctor says I have to purchase to remove the almost 1100 infections found, is there a way to remove them for free?

There is a program called Counter Spy it is one, if not the best in getting rid of them. They give you a free 45 or 30 day trial that acually gets rid of it. Try this, you'll be glad you did.
