Regedit

I export a copy of my registry prior to installing an app in case my new program does not agree with my pc. So my question is - what is the difference between importing a backed up registry and using Norton's GoBack or System Restore? Thanks.

Norton's utilities are usually crap...and system restore is a place where viruses like to hide, so that when you remove them they keep coming back.

To test new programs, I install them on a virtual PC.

I use VMWare...but ya, if I run into something I don't know about, I just install it on a virtual pc.
