ok, i had a old hp about a month ago and my fx 5500 worked fine, but then i finally upgraded to a HP a804n and when i try to install the card it will not work. i disable the onboard, and change the setting in the bios but in the device manager it says the the device will not start(code 10), any idea what is wrong |

is this a PCI card or a AGP card ... did you uninstall the old drivers for the onboard video... "not sure if it's ATI onboard graphics or nVidea" ..

its nVidia PCI, and i uninstalled the drivers and it didnt work, and it is Intel onboard 82845G |

does code 10 mean something is wrong with the card, or would i be able to sell it? |

there is another explanation... seems a reg. mix up or something... see if you can do what is said in the above link...
uninstall all display drivers...
reinstall card.. make sure it's all seated correctly etc.. or try a different PCI slot...
then reinstall your display driver , you could possible try and reinstall your "MB" drivers as well.. see if that works... |

not sure if it's the card or not... you would have to try it in another machine and see if it works... |

How did you disable the on-board video? Did you also disable "assign IRQ to VGA"? |
